Overview
SessionSaver is a Chrome extension that saves and restores groups of browser tabs as named sessions.
This policy explains what data is stored, where it lives, and how the extension uses its permissions.
Data we collect
SessionSaver collects no personal data. The extension does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
- Browsing history or web activity
- Location or device information
- Analytics, usage statistics, or crash reports
- Any data sent to the developer or any third party
Data stored locally
The following data is stored only on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. It never leaves your browser.
- Session data — the names, tab URLs, and timestamps of sessions you create
- Preferences — your chosen colour theme and sort order
- Donation state — whether you've confirmed a donation (a simple true/false flag, no payment details)
You can delete all stored data at any time by clicking "Clear all" inside the extension, or by uninstalling it.
Permissions used
SessionSaver requests only the permissions it strictly needs:
- tabs — to read your currently open tabs so you can choose which ones to save, and to reopen them when you restore a session
- storage — to save your sessions and preferences locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API
No other permissions are requested. No host permissions. No access to page content.
Third-party services
SessionSaver has a voluntary donation button that links to Ko-fi. Clicking it opens Ko-fi in a new tab. Any payment you make is handled entirely by Ko-fi and is subject to their own privacy policy. SessionSaver cannot detect whether a donation was made — it only asks you to confirm it manually.
No other third-party services, SDKs, or analytics tools are used.
Changes to this policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Since no personal data is collected, changes are unlikely to affect users in any meaningful way.
